When I was younger growing up I was your typical All-American girl. All I ever envisioned was meeting the man of my dreams, having a fancy wedding, and the dream house with the white picket fence. I would then become a stay at home Mom with a house full of kids that was always filled with lots of love, laughter, handmade crafts, and home-baked goods.
Nowhere in MY PLAN was there a time of pregnancy bedrest followed by the delivery of a 26 week old premature baby boy. After 3 months in the NICU he was finally released to come home and was doing so well then soon after MY health became an issue. I spent the next year in and out of the hospital facing multiple surgeries while being a stay at home Mom and soon to be wife. As many times as I’ve told this story, OUR STORY, the words come out but it honestly still doesn’t seem real at times.
Through my journey paired with my love and experience with children, I can be honest. In your mind, you can prepare them for all you want and think they need! Being home has been such a blessing now and during my pregnancy. I was able to read the best selling baby books, look up the top baby items, but the majority of the things you’ve read or preparations you’ve taken all go out of the window and it’s honestly you, God and your instincts.
Which brings me to this blog. It’s not “how to do something right or wrong” because if I’ve learned nothing in this new journey called motherhood. All experiences are different and this blog is simply about my discoveries that have helped me along the way.
