My family was invited to a beautiful event for NICU babies, where Asher walked across the stage, bringing us immense joy. There were countless games and activities for families, reminding us of the power of togetherness and celebration.
At the event, a kangaroo cart brought back a flood of emotions. Asher’s curiosity ignited as he walked beside it. His first journey wasn’t in a car home; it was in a kangaroo transport to the hospital. Witnessing him explore that cart was a beautiful reminder of how far he has come. I told him, “This is how you went to the hospital, but look at you now.”
As we exited the event, we came across the table with the books we donated—a profound full-circle moment that our family shared together.
Events like this reaffirm my commitment to sharing our story. I needed those stories for hope back then, and I hope our journey inspires hope in others, too.
Allow yourself to feel what you need to feel when it comes to everything that hasn’t happened yet, knowing that you are navigating life’s pages with an open heart, gently welcoming courage as you go.
